Welcome to My Niche Blogging
General July 26th, 2009Three years ago I was on a flight to home to Indiana from a Travel Goods show in Las Vegas I stuck a conversation with the gentleman sitting next to me. My wife and I work in the travel industry and I was telling him about our online luggage store and after talking for a while he explained to me he was a full time online niche marketer. This was Joe’s full time income for the past eight years and at that time he was building sites (he said he had over 2,000 domains) with BANS (Build-a-Niche Software).
Over the next year I began building niche sites with BANS software and other sites with Front Page, success was limited but income was growing slowly until about a year ago when many of the BANS sites were de-indexed by Google (many of these sites were thin on content) and while I still have several of these sites yet today that make steady income most of the domains have been re-built with word press sites rich with content. Google seems to love these sites and traffic has shown a steady increase.
Keys to success in niche blogging include focused content (posts must be strongly related to why your reader came to your site). Unique content – while I do use some feed-based content retaining visitors require content that is unique and currently unpublished on other websites. Monetization-friendly blog templates that is easily customizable and flexible. Good niche research – choosing a niche that actually has an audience. Ad relevancy – blending ad placement that offer solutions to site visitors looking for specific information.
In this blog I will discuss how to choose a niche, pick a domain name, perform keyword research, how to monetize your blog and how to get traffic to your site.
I will share with you the tools I use and will provide a blueprint on getting started building your blog empire.
Thanks for visiting,
Kim
